#100dayproject 2020

A Facebook page was promoting the #100dayproject 2020. I became involved due to self isolating and a daily Facebook thread kept participants accountable and invested in the project. It was actually hard work producing a 10 x 10cm oil study every day for a 100 days, but the result was very satisfying. Each painting is just a study with an intention - be it a focus on colour, composition, contrast or the like.

The whole 100 will be on display at my open studio dates during SALA (South Australian Living Artists) festival in August. See the SALA guide for dates. All the pieces are now for sale for $60 each and will form the basis of a painting scholarship at the Rob Gutteridge School of Classical Realism in Adelaide.

#100dayproject 2020

The #100dayproject was a Facebook community I was involved in during the voluntary isolation period at the start of COVID-19 restrictions. I used it as an incentive to get to my studio each day to paint a 10 x 10 cm oil paint study. A daily Facebook thread on which to post daily creations kept me accountable. It turned out to be quite a project - challenging at times but very satisfying at the end. As each piece was created with an intention to focus on an element of painting- composition, contrast, colour etc, I now have experienced around 300 hours of structured oil painting.
